Even though the pump is raised to the second flange, the water is still close to the base of the pump.
The secon picture is at the Powerline Rapid which is now submerged.

Orange River in Flood: November 2006

Maxi surveys where the deck should be. Now 25cm under water. Not a drop of rain on the farm, but melting snow and rain in Lesotho have resulted in it flooding. Still controlled by the two dams, it poses no threat. We have had to pull the pumps to a higher level though.

Orchard from "Spion Kop": October 2006

Pierre Roux was back at Ramah from London for a few days in October.
We climbed Spion Kop with our dogs to view the orchard from there. The Orange River is quite full after good rains in Lesotho
